The Weakerthans | Left and Leaving
My city’s still breathing (but barely it’s true)
Through buildings gone missing like teeth
The sidewalks are watching me think about you
Sparkled with broken glass
I’m back with scars to show
Back with the streets I know
Will never take me anywhere but here
The stain in the carpet, this drink in my hand
The strangers whose faces I know
We meet here for our dress-rehearsal
To say, “I wanted it this way”
Wait for the year to drown
Spring forward, fall back down
I’m trying not to wonder where you are
All this time lingers, undefined
Someone choose who’s left and who’s leaving
Memory will rust and erode into lists
Of all that you gave me:
A blanket, some matches, this pain in my chest
The best parts of lonely, duct-tape, and soldered wires
New words for old desires
And every birthday card I threw away
I wait in 4/4 time
Count yellow highway lines that you’re relying on
To lead you homeFavorite song of all time.

So for the most part, I’ve got all the guys’ characters set up to level 1. We spent most of last night working on this, and they seem excited, so I’m excited too. I’m going to bump them all up to level 4 later this weekend. That’s the level they’ll play at in this one shot game.
We’ve got an interesting lineup so far out of the guys.
Harrison is playing a Gnome wizard, who is quite mad and wants to turn things into flying confectionery genitalia.
Chris is playing an unarmed Half-Elf monk in an orange gi, who fights for St. Cuthbert.
Taylor is playing a Half-Orc cleric of Wee Jas, wielding a scythe or a sickle and shield.
Kevin is playing a lawful-stupid Human paladin, out to dispense with STREET JUSTICE in the name of Heironeous.
Dexter is playing a surprisingly Human intelligent fighter, who can speak the same number of languages as the wizard while still kicking ass. (He made damned good ability rolls. Seriously, the CIRCLE OF ROLLING has powers)
And Finally, we have Powers and his Dwarf Bard, who we will find out more about when he creates his character. Needless to say, it will be very grandiose.
That’s the lineup so far. As for my campaign, I can’t very well divulge details, but its a mix of the traditional D&D setting and Forgotten Realms.
